We are a young snowboard start-up from Munich. We want to show everyone how much fun snowboarding is, by making it more comfortable and accessible. 
CLEW stands for clever and new. We combine precision with freedom and creativity with style.

We are proud to be the only snowboard binding 'Made in Germany'. Our assembly takes place in Miesbach, near Munich. Most of our individual parts also come from Germany. Our goal is to keep transport routes short and to purchase all individual parts in Germany if possible.

The first time you use it, you enter the CLEW binding just like a traditional rachet binding. This makes the binding perfectly adjusted to your soft boot. Then, off to the slopes. When you arrive at the lift, you simply pull on the red handle on the back of the binding (highback) and step out with it. Before the next ride, first step into the front part of the binding (toe strap) with the tip of your boot and then step on the heel. That's it ;-)

You can leave the higback on the soft boot without restrictions. If you walk on snow with it, you will not even notice it. Even if you take a break for your well-deserved 'Kaiserschmarren' (typical Austrian dessert) and leave it on in the restaurant, you will only feel a thin extra layer under the sole of your shoe, but you will get used to it immediately.
Should it still bother you, you can always take the highback off at any time during lunch or longer breaks.
Of course, this can always happen when snowboarding. If there is a lot of snow, we recommend removing as much as possible by shaking or wiping it off. However, the step-in function also works with snow on your binding. The CLEW binding is equipped with a special snow and ice proof guidance of the highback and two step-in levels.

We use a combi disc/ insert disc which is compatible with most snowboards. See the following examples:

  • 2x4 (image as example)
  • 4x4 (image as example)
  • ICS Channel (image as example)

Our combi disc is not designed for the "3D" fitting. If you are using a board with this fitting, you can easily add the matching 3D disc when ordering.

For the CLEW binding you can use your own soft boots, no matter which brand. You just have to make sure that you choose the right binding size.
You can use our binding anywhere in the snow. With the hard 'flex' you get an optimal feeling on the slope and in deep snow.
No, the mechnism does not release itself.
The highback has a sole component on the bottom side made of an abrasion-resistant TPU material (thermoplastic polyurethane). This material offers properties comparable to the soles of newer ski boots. It has a cushioning and anti-slip effect when walking on hard ground. When walking mainly in snow, it will last for years. Gondola rides or lunch breaks at the lodge are also easily possible. Only at the parking lot we would recommend walking to your car without it, to ensure long durability.
In case the sole has worn out, it can be reordered as a single spare part in our store at any time.


After ordering you will receive an order confirmation within 24h. The goods will be shipped on the specified date. Once the goods have left the warehouse, you will receive a notification with a tracking number so that you can track your shipment.

As soon as the goods have left the warehouse, you will receive a notification with a tracking number. This allows you to track the status of your delivery at any time. If you do not receive your order and if the tracking has not been updated for more than 2 business days, please contact us and we will check your request immediately:  support@clew.de.    
Usually it takes up to 24 hours until you get the order confirmation via email. Occasionally it can happen that new e-mails are moved to your spam folder. If you did not receive an e-mail within this time, please contact us:  support@clew.de .
You can cancel your order without giving reason. Orders that have already left the warehouse cannot be retrieved. When the package arrives, simply refuse to accept it and it will automatically be returned to us. Once the goods are back at our warehouse, they will be processed and you will get your money back.  

Warranty & return

Just send us an E-Mail at  support@clew.de  and you will receive a return label.
Under certain circumstances it can happen that a parcel is damaged during delivery. In most cases, however, the damage is only to the packaging and not directly to the product. If you notice that the packaging is damaged when you receive the product, it is best to ask the mailman to wait a short moment. Open the packaging and check if the content is damaged. If the product is damaged, you may refuse to accept it and the parcel will be automatically returned to us.
That happens. Just send us a short email to  support@clew.de  and we will cancel the order for you. At the same time, you can place a new order.
Of course you can mount your bindings onto your snowboard at home. However, as soon as the binding has been on the slopes, it can no longer be returned.
The duration of the refund depends on the payment method. It usually takes only a few working days for you to get your money back.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer an exchange of items. However, you can return your unused product and place a new order at the same time.
Of course, we fully comply with the statutory warranty and regulations. In addition, you get a one-year guarantee from us.
